| Articles | ![]() Anxiety and depression are two of the most common mental health conditions facing people in this country today. In fact, statistics show that one in five people suffer from some sort of mental health condition (and of these the vast majority are sufferers of either anxiety or depression). So what can you do if you're a sufferer? The most common remedies for anxiety and depression are counselling or medication. Which one is most effective for you? Well, only you can answer that question. Medication is the "easy" answer. Take a pill and you'll be all right... However, counselling may be the better option to take, especially in the early stages. There are different reasons why people suffer from anxiety or depression. For some people their conditions are the result of events that have happened in their lives (loss of a loved one, divorce, difficult relationships etc) while for others the condition is chemical. People in the latter category are probably the best candidates for long term medication, whereas people in the former category would probably be better off with either counselling on its own or a combination of the two. This website has been put up to provide you with as much information about these conditions as possible, and what you can do to help yourself or a loved one who is suffering from anxiety or depression. If there's something you want to know, and it's not here, then feel free to contact me (use the link at the bottom of the page) and tell me what you want to know. New articles are being added all the time, and I'm more than happy to provide advice for anyone who needs it. |
