Active Child

If you've got a child or family member with attention deficit disorder or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and you're looking for information about this condition, then you've come to the right place!

More and more children are being diagnosed with ADD or ADHD, and there are numerous treatments available.

Some doctors will presribe like crazy, others will tell you there's nothing wrong with your child. So what do you do? For starters, read all you can, and if you get one diagnosis from one doctor, and another from another doctor, then go with what feels right to you. Some people don't like the idea of medicating their child, whereas others feel that medication is the only way to go. I'm not one way or the other, personally. Some kids respond really well to medication while others don't.

Now, don't think I'm neglecting older people here! Kids with ADD or ADHD usually grow up into adults with the same condition! By adulthood, many of us have learned a bit of self discipline and can often function quite well, but that's not to say that things can't be better. Also, there are many adults who were never diagnosed as children and thus reach adulthood not knowing there's anything wrong with them or that there's anything that can be done.

Over time I'll be adding more and more articles to the site, so hopefully you'll find something that's useful to you. If not, then feel free to contact me and tell me what you want to know more about. Alternatively, if you've got information you think could benefit others, then tell me about that too. I'm more than happy for others to contribute to this website with their own articles.
