| Articles | ![]() What exactly is blood pressure and why is it so important? Most of us have heard the terms "low blood pressure" and "high blood pressure" but what exactly do they mean, and what does it mean for you if you're suffering from either one? There are ways of controlling each condition, either using natural or synthetic (ie medication) means. As you're probably aware, the most dangerous of the two is high blood pressure. When your blood pressure's high, you're at serious risk of stroke or other brain injury. Low blood pressure, on the other hand, is more likely to lead to feelings of dizziness or faintness. A lot of people (especially older people) get put on different sorts of blood pressure medication by their doctors, in the belief that this is the best way to control blood pressure problems. Now, I'm not going to argue with that! If you're on blood pressure medication, then stay on it (at least for now!) However, there are ways you can reduce your blood pressure naturally, and ideally your doctor will keep an eye on your blood pressure medication, so your dosage can be lowered or even stopped if necessary. I'll be keeping this page as up to date as I can with information about blood pressure, medication, and ways of lowering blood pressure naturally. If there's something you want to know and it's not here, please contact me and I'll see what I can do to give you the information you want. |
